SGroup is glad to announce the new SGroup initiative in the framework of the Think Tank Academy for Doctoral Education, the first PhD Training and Competition “Crafting your professional pitch”.

1. What is it?
In this initiative, SGroup PhD candidates can benefit from soft skill training funded by SGroup and compete to receive one of the three PhD Mobility Grants of up to 1000 € to carry out research abroad. The training will be focused on rhetoric skills and communicating research results with wide audiences. The competition is based on the 3-Minutes Thesis pitch model.
2. Who can participate?
Participation is open to active doctoral researchers from SGroup member and associate member universities who have already achieved research results to share in their pitch, namely candidates in the final years of their thesis.

3. When will it take place?
Selected participants as well as the respective SGroup Liaison Officer and General Assembly Representatives will be informed via email by 1 July. The training will take place online on 5 and 6 September and each selected participant shall submit their pitch for the competition by 12 September. All selected participants will receive a certificate. The 10 candidates with the highest scores will be announced by 30 September and will receive an individual feature on SGroup’s website.
The top 3 finalists will be invited to present their pitch live and receive their prize (1000 € mobility grant) in person at the SGroup’s Annual Meetings, namely during the Think Tank Academy Conference, on 26 October 2022, in the University of Minho, Guimarães, Portugal.
