Doctoral studies are not structured in credits. However, training activities must be carried out throughout the period you are engaged in these studies. The number of hours and type of training activities to be carried out (transversal, specific...) are specified in the verification report of each doctoral programme.
As a doctoral student, you can take the transversal training activities, organized by the Doctoral School; and the specific training activities, organized by each doctoral programme.
No, but it is advisable, always according to what is established in the verification report of the doctoral degree, and under the supervision of the tutor and the thesis supervisor.
The verification report of each doctoral programme specifies which training activities will be considered in the doctoral student’s training. In general, they usually comprise activities carried out in other institutions or centres outside the UVa.
In general, they are published on the website of each doctoral programme, in the section “Training activities”. You can access the different doctoral programmes.
The training activities organized by the School can be consulted on the EsDUVa website in the section Training-Transversal Training Activities.
Access to the activities is through a first pre-enrolment, which all EsDUVa doctoral students have access to. This is done at least twice a year. After the applicants have been selected –depending on the available places and the admission criteria– you will be notified by e-mail of admission to the training activity, as well as the steps to follow to enrol in it.
For both pre-enrolment and enrolment, there is a help manual published on the EsDUVa website, in the Transversal Training Activities section.
Once the training activity has been successfully completed, the Doctoral School will send the certificate to the students.
