You must meet at least one of the entrance requirements set out in the doctoral studies rules.
More information is available at the following link: Access and admission to an official UVa Doctoral Programme.
The academic committees of the doctoral programmes may also establish specific admission requirements that you can consult in the detailed information of each programme available on each one’s website.
Application for admission to a doctoral programme must be made using the form established for this purpose and must be addressed to the coordinator of the doctoral programme, accompanied by a copy of all the required documents.
The academic committee of the programme will decide on admission and will inform the interested party and the administrative secretariat of the Doctoral School.
The Rector's decision establishes two pre-enrolment periods: the first is usually in September, and the second in February (only for those programmes which have vacancies not covered in the first period).
To become a doctoral student in a doctoral programme, it is essential to register in person at the administrative secretary’s office of the Doctoral School at the Casa del Estudiante, Calle Real de Burgos s/n in Valladolid, or by email at: negociado.escuela.doctorado@uva.es
It is advisable to check on the website all the documents that will be required at the time of enrolment.
The registration fee is set annually by the regional government in the decree of public prices.
The registration fee can be paid at any office of the Banco Santander upon presentation of the payment slip (“abonaré”) provided by the administrative secretariat of the Doctoral School, or you can pay it by direct debit, for which you will need to provide your bank account number
You must renew your enrolment every year you are on the doctoral programme, within the deadlines established for this purpose. Failure to renew your enrolment will result in your withdrawal from the doctoral programme unless you have been authorised by the academic committee to temporarily withdraw from the programme for one year, which can be extended for a further year.
You can request written cancellation of your enrolment to the administrative secretariat of the Doctoral School, during the month following the end of the enrolment period. During this period, you will be entitled to a refund of the tuition fees paid (but not the administrative fees).
Once the above-mentioned period has elapsed, cancellation of enrolment will not entitle you to a refund of the amount paid, and payment of the outstanding amounts will also be required.
